Mango Green Tea - The Ultimate Guide

This recipe is for you if you adore mangos. All year long, this mango green tea with a sweet and refreshing taste will quench your thirst!

Use frozen or fresh mangoes to make a large pitcher that can be served for summer lunches, picnics, or barbecues.

What is Mango Green Tea?

A delightfully sweet and juicy beverage, Iced Mango Green Tea can be prepared in less than ten minutes of active working time. This refreshing beverage is ideal for gatherings, picnics, and barbecues.

It is made with loose green tea or tea bags, mango puree, lime juice, and sugar. Either fresh or frozen mangoes can be used to make this incredibly simple, sweet, and mango-flavored green tea. The puree from a can also works very well. If you prepare a large amount of mango puree, you can have a nutritious beverage soon after you get back home, which is great.

Although I prefer to use green tea to make this beverage, you can use any other type of tea in its place, including black, chamomile, or even Earl Grey.

Why You Should Make This Recipe

Making your own homemade mango green tea allows you to control the amount of sweetness added to the drink.

You can choose what kind of tea you use on your preference.

Furthermore, making it yourself is less expensive than purchasing it from a coffee shop!

Ingredients and Substitutions In This Recipe

  • Green Tea: Any kind of green tea would work for this recipe. But my favorite one is jasmine tea, which adds jasmine flavor to green tea.
  • Water: used to make green tea with jasmine.
  • Mango: For this recipe, use fresh, ripe, and juicy mangos. Since there aren't many ingredients in this recipe, it's crucial to use good mangos since they will be the highlight of the meal. As an alternative, you can purchase frozen mangos, which are typically frozen when they are ripe if they are not in season.
  • Granulated Sugar: This tea is sweetened with granulated sugar. If you'd like, you can also experiment with other sweeteners like honey and maple syrup.
  • Lemon Juice: To counterbalance the sweetness of the mango and sugar, a hint of acidity is added by the lemon juice.

Useful Equipment to Have

  • Medium Saucepan: Any small to medium-sized saucepan will work as a medium saucepan.
  • Wooden Spoon: To smash the softened mangos, any wooden spoon or spatula will do.
  • Blender or Immersion Blender: To make the mango pureed enough to incorporate into the tea, use a blender or immersion blender.
  • Fine Mesh Sieve: Although it's not necessary, I like to add this step to the puree to get rid of any stringy mango bits that the blender did not get.

How To Make Mango Green Tea

  1. In a large cup or pitcher of hot water, steep the jasmine green tea bags for three to four minutes. Squeeze out any remaining liquid from the tea bags after removing them. Take caution—it will get hot. Put in the fridge for approximately thirty minutes to cool.
  2. Prepare the mango purée. Cut the mango into cubes. Mango cubes, sugar, and lemon juice should all be combined in a small saucepan and simmer over medium-low heat until the mangos become tender. Approximately ten minutes. Once the mango has gotten soft, smash it some more with a spoon or spatula until it purees.
  3. In a blender, add the mango puree and process until smooth. An immersion blender is another option.
  4. After blending the mango puree, strain it and set it aside.
  5. Depending on how sweet you want your green tea, add two to three tablespoons of mango coulis for every one and a half cups. Add ice and your preferred toppings, such as mango chunks and boba! Have fun!

Tips and Notes

  • Utilize refrigerated ingredients. Before beginning this recipe, make sure all the ingredients are refrigerated.
  • This recipe yields two cups. If you would like to prepare it for larger gatherings, you can increase the recipe by two or three times.
  • The amount of sugar can be adjusted. When it comes to drinks, I am always in favor of something that isn't too sweet or dense. However, you are in full control of the sugar content, and you can adjust the amount to suit your taste!
  • Top with your preferred toppings. To make this recipe a complete delight, you can garnish it with homemade boba pearls!

FAQs

How Can I Store This Mango Green Tea?

Pour a large pitcher of mango-iced green tea into the refrigerator.

Eat it the same day so it's nice and fresh. I prefer not to keep it in storage for longer than a day. Before pouring it into the glass, give it a good stir.

Can I Make This Mango Green Tea Ahead of Time?

It would be feasible if you could keep green tea and mango apart in the refrigerator! Nonetheless, I strongly advise preparing mango green tea on the same day.
